Local Climbing and Pumpkin Time!

Greetings!                 (Click on pictures for slideshow)

The week started off with Johan and I heading off to the local cliff five minutes from my house.  We climbed this one route called 'Huuhkaja' (E4 6a) that is probably one of the hardest I have ever led.  It took us two different days and loads of tries to finally get up. It was awesome once we figured out the hard bouldery moves that had a very special sequence.  We then climbed some other routes along the wall in the dark for the first time of the year!  It was a very fun day out thanks to Johan. I guess fall is really setting in and winter is just around the corner!
Then Annina and I headed to this funny little pumpkin festival that was very nice.  We strolled around through the funny venue that had a little troll forest and very fall themed little park.  There was also a funny museum and a little store that was nice to look at.  I had a great laugh at one radio they had in the museum since all the channels seemed to tune to each town.  Would be great if it was that easy nowadays.  Was nice to see so many people running around with big smiles on their faces.  It was a fantastic way to spend the evening together.
As the week was closing I decided to head to my massive mixed climbing project alone.  I have been able to do the individual segments together but it may be very hard or impossible to link them together.  Time will tell but hopefully I will be able to do it.  One problem is to protect the roof.  I think the grade will be in the M10-11 range as the roof actually goes down and then horizontal for about 10-12 meters and then hopefully in the winter there will be some nice ice on the 12meter vertical wall above.  It is quite a project and will take some special training!
It has been quite a week as I was also hopping along the shore in Helsinki on my bike and finished with a short bike ride with my teammate Marek.  This next week should be a busy one as I will try to get some more climbing projects done!  There are also a lot of home projects in store as well!  Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more fall updates!
